My kids and I spent the Easter weekend at Spier and had so much fun that I just have to share some of the photo’s with you. At 1st I was a bit worried that I would be room bound but Spier surprises me with lots of place to walk and things to do and it is one of the few wine farms that are really child friendly and welcome families with open arms. If you are one of those mommies that need some me time to go for a message or just have some quite time with your hubby, then you simply book your kids into the play room for some supervised fun. They will love it so much you will have to drag them away from there. When you and hubby want to go wine tasting you take the kids with you and they can do the children’s grape juice tasting 🙂 If your children are older than 10 they can join you on the 1 hour Segway tour around the Spier farm. A must is a visit to the Eagle Encounters were the kids can either pet the animals, watch a bird show or get to hold some of the birds. Then of course the food…. WOW… what more can I say! The Eight Deli or Restaurant make delicious food. We ate at the restaurant under the trees while the kids ran around but you can also order a picnic basket and sit on the lush lawns around the dam with the family. After eating such a great meal you can walk along one of the many walkways and just enjoy the beautiful surrounding, take photo’s or do the self walk tour learning the history about the wine farm. Ok, enough chatter from me. I hope that when you visit the Spier wine farm you and your family will have as much fun as we did. http://www.spier.co.za / Spier Wine Farm
