We took the Cable Car up to the top of Table Mountain and had breakfast at the restaurant. Enjoying the views over Camps Bay, Lion’s head and the city. After breakfast at the Cable-car Restaurant we walked along the flat section of the Plateau, too Maclears Beacon, to take in some stunning views towards Newlands and Kirstenbosch.
Our lunch spot at Maclears Beacon with lovely views over our city. The flowers are beautiful on the mountain this time of the year.
After lunch we headed back to the Gorge, then slowly made our way down the mountain with a couple hundred other people. I will not do this hike again during a holiday season as it is just too busy and some people really have no respect for anyone but themselves. We could not believe that some people are so inaptly dresses to hike and don’t even have water with them. Really not responsible hikers and no wonder accidents happen on this path. Sadly Not one of my favourite hikes. Heading down…
Platteklip Gorge is the most popular hiking route to the summit of Table Mountain and back down again. Many people go up and then come down via the Cable Car but we decided to do it the other way round 🙂
